Information on how we process personal data
At Estea AB, reg. no. 556321-1415, ("we" or "Estea"), we may need to process personal data, i.e., information that can be attributed to a specific individual. It is important to us that you feel secure and understand how and why we process personal data.

Estea's processing of personal data complies with applicable data protection legislation. This means, among other things, that we protect your personal data with necessary measures and that you always have the right to contact us to find out what personal data we have stored about you. You can read more about your rights below or contact us directly for additional information. You can always contact us to find out if, and if so, what information we have about you.

Controller for personal data
Estea is the controller for the data collected or provided to Estea and otherwise saved in connection with your contacts with Estea or any of Estea's subsidiaries. (Information about Estea's subsidiaries is available on the website, but you can always contact us directly for more information.)

Personal data we collect and need to process
Estea needs to collect and process personal data primarily for three different purposes:

  • In rental operations (tenants and their representatives)

  • To fulfill or administer contractual relationships

  • Investors in Estea's alternative investment funds

The personal data collected when you rent premises or enter into agreements (on your own behalf or as a representative) may include, for example, name, address, email address, telephone number, personal identification number, or other information necessary for mutual fulfillment of the rental or contractual relationship.

Data may be used to prepare, administer, and fulfill contracts, communicate in connection with various types of offers and customer matters, provide information about Estea and its services or operations, provide residential and commercial leasing, expression of interest, and our website. When you enter into an agreement with us or are in contact with us in other contexts, you may also need to provide personal data. This can be done for various purposes, such as establishing and maintaining your lease relationship or other contractual relationship with us, communicating with you, administering payments, protecting our rights, reviewing and following up on contractual relationships, and complying with legal requirements, regulations, or regulatory decisions. Data processing is always linked to and related to your relationship with and an ongoing relationship with Estea. Your agreement or specific information provided when entering into a relationship with Estea may contain more detailed information about data processing.

If we have an agreement with you personally, we have the right to process your data on that basis. Otherwise, we have determined that we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data to fulfill an agreement with the party you represent, inform about our offers, or protect our rights. We may also have the right to process your personal data due to legal requirements.

Specific information on processing personal data to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing
Estea is in certain cases obligated to collect and process personal data under the Law (2017:630) on measures against money laundering and terrorist financing. This mainly applies to investors in Estea's funds and certain counterparties.

Personal data appearing in passports or identity documents or other information collected, such as identity, citizenship, residence, other place of stay, and public function, will be processed if necessary to obtain so-called customer knowledge, assess whether the customer or, where applicable, the ultimate beneficial owner is a politically exposed person, appears in sanctions lists, to preserve documents or information about actions taken to achieve customer knowledge (including assessing risk, fulfilling obligations regarding monitoring and control measures), to preserve documents or information about suspected money laundering and terrorist financing, and to fulfill the obligation to investigate and report to the Police Authority.

Access to personal data
The personal data is used by Estea and the property companies within the Estea group. The personal data may also need to be disclosed to banks to carry out payments, property managers, consultants, and other contractors for us to fulfill our commitments and to ensure smooth mutual business relationships. We will be restrictive in disclosing personal data to external parties and only when necessary to comply with laws, regulations, or regulatory decisions or for the above-mentioned purposes.

We will not disclose personal data for marketing purposes or to allow an external party to use it for their own purposes.

Transfer to third countries
Your personal data will not be transferred to countries outside the EU/EEA unless specifically stated when providing your personal data.

Storage Periods
We do not store your personal data for longer than necessary in relation to the purposes of the processing. This means that we delete your personal data in accordance with applicable legislation. If you terminate a business relationship with us, your personal data will normally be stored for up to 24 months from the date of termination to manage post-contractual relationships. The exception is documentation that needs to be retained according to the Accounting Act or other laws. If there is a suspicion of a violation of the law or contract, or other improper conduct, we reserve the right to store this information for a longer period until the circumstances have been clarified or investigated. For information processed under the Law (2017:630) on measures against money laundering and terrorist financing, personal data can normally be stored for up to 5 years from the date of termination of the customer relationship. According to this law, certain information may need to be retained for a longer period than that to fulfill the duty to investigate.

Information Security
The use of technical systems and the transmission of data always involve risks. We take appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access and other harmful actions. This is done by ensuring that the servers we use are well-protected and that we have modern technology to prevent unauthorized access and other unauthorized actions. We also work on the principle that only those internally at Estea who need personal data should have access to it.

Right to Request Information
You have the right, unless otherwise required by mandatory law, to:

  • Request information about what personal data we process about you, and you can request a copy of this (record extract).
  • Have incorrect personal data corrected, and you can in certain cases ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Object to the processing of certain personal data about you and request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
  • Have the personal data you have provided to us transferred to another data controller (right to data portability).
  • Withdraw your consent to processing if the processing is based on consent.
  • If you are dissatisfied with how we process your personal data, you can make a complaint to the Swedish Data Protection Authority, which is the supervisory authority.
